For more than 50 years, Severe Service has been the leading provider of highly engineered fluid control solutions in the power generation, oil & gas, petrochemical, iron & steel and nuclear industries.

• Legislation, safety and quality regulations are getting stricter and more recently, compliance to fugitive emission standards demand better valve solutions
• Emerging markets, higher demand for energy is driving the need for improved reliability in small capacity as well as super-critical plants, which have higher outputs and more stringent requirements, resulting in greater reliance on bespoke engineered valves

Our relentless drive to solve customer fluid control problems has resulted in the creation of two proprietary training programs:

• The Valve Doctor® program, which is focused on developing world-class talent in the field of severe service flow control solutions, and
• Severe Service University, which is focused on furthering customer education on severe service solutions.

We have over 50 Valve Doctors® globally and we aim to identify an additional 50 people in the next year to ensure we lead the way with our application experience. They are the result of a comprehensive, multi-year programme that exposes these experts to real world issues where they work with our customers to anticipate their future needs. Our Valve Doctors® differentiate us because they have:

• Decades of experience in the valve market
• Commissioned Severe Service equipment at plants and as a result have detailed insights
• Integral valve/plant knowledge to troubleshoot and solve customer problems

Our Severe Service University further helps to establish us at the forefront of valve technology and is for customers who want to understand more about how to achieve the highest levels of performance and reliability.

IMI Severe Service has over 200,000 valves in operation currently around the world supported by a global sales and service network. Additionally, we have factories located in 12 countries staffed by over 3,000 highly committed employees. We are unique in the industry for our direct sales approach and dedicated support for customers world-wide with the ability to supply parts at short notice, undertake major plant upgrades and overhaul and repair existing equipment.
