Norman Askew has extensive international experience in industry including previous positions as Chief Executive of Virginia Power in the USA and BNFL. His current positions include the chairmanship of both Taylor Wimpey plc and the Board of Governors of Manchester University.

Martin Lamb
Chief Executive
Born January 1960; joined IMI in 1986
Martin Lamb was appointed to the Board in 1996. He became Chief Executive in January 2001. He has extensive experience in the engineering sector and has managed several major businesses within the group before his present appointment. He is a non-executive director of Severn Trent Water plc. An honours graduate in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College, London, he also holds an MBA from Cranfield Business School. |

Douglas Hurt
Finance Director
Born June 1956; joined IMI and the Board in 2006
Douglas Hurt was previously with GlaxoSmithKline where he held both financial and operational roles including a number of US and European senior management positions. He has a degree in Economics from Cambridge University and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. |

David C Nicholas

David Nicholas is responsible for IMI’s Fluid Controls businesses, which comprise Fluid Power, Indoor Climate and Severe Service. His recent past directorships include Tyco Flow Control Europe. Holder of an honours degree in Industrial Economics from the University of Nottingham, he has extensive experience in managing engineering businesses and was previously with Dresser. |

Roy M Twite
Executive Director
Born May 1967; joined IMI in 1988
Roy Twite was appointed to the board in February 2007 with responsibility for IMI’s Retail Dispense businesses, which comprise Beverage Dispense and Merchandising. He was previously President, IMI Indoor Climate, based in Sweden, and has held a number of senior operational positions in IMI. A graduate in engineering from Nottingham University, he also holds a masters degree from Cambridge University. |

Lance Browne CBE
Non-executive Director
Born June 1949; Joined the IMI Board in 2005
Lance Browne is the non-executive Chairman of Standard Chartered Bank, China, where he was Chief Executive between 1996 and 2001. He has held a range of senior positions in banking and engineering businesses and has lived in China for over 20 years. He is an Honorary Citizen of Shanghai and was appointed CBE in 2002 for his work in China. In addition to his roles on the IMI Board and its committees, he chairs a management group knows as the ‘IMI China Advisory Board’ and serves as the director of China Goldmines plc. |

Terry M Gateley

Born December 1953; joined the IMI Board in 2003
Terry Gateley is the senior non-executive director of the IMI Board. He began his career as a chartered accountant and was in private practice until moving into investment management in 1999. He is a member of the Industrial Advisory Board of Alchemy Partners LLP and his current directorships include Kestrel Holdings Limited, Everyday Loans Holdings Limited, Presentation Service Providers Limited and Leicester Tigers. |

Anita Frew is the senior non-executive director of Victrex plc and a non-executive director of Aberdeen Asset Management PLC, Northumbrian Water Ltd and Securities Trust of Scotland plc. She is the Director of City of London Trust plc. She was previously an executive director of Abbot Mead Vickers PLC, Director of Corporate Development at WPP Group Plc and Head of UK Equity Investment at Scottish Provident in Edinburgh. |

Bob Stack

Bob Stack is an executive director of Cadbury plc, having served eighteen years with the company in increasingly senior positions. A US national, he is a non-executive director of J Sainsbury plc, where he is Chairman of the Remuneration Committee, and he also serves on the Advisory Committee for Management Education at INSEAD. He has extensive international experience with a specialist capability in the fields of HR, external affairs, and corporate communications. |
