IMI plc appoints further new non-executive director - 7 March 2005
IMI plc, the major international engineering group, today announces the appointment of Kevin Beeston as a non-executive director with effect from 8 March 2005. Kevin Beeston, 42, is Executive Chairman of Serco Group plc, a position he has held since 2002.
Commenting on this appointment Jim Leng, Chairman of IMI, said “The appointment of Mr Beeston strengthens the independent non-executive presence on the Board of IMI, where his extensive business experience will be of great value. He will be joining the Audit, Nominations and Remuneration Committees (he will take the chair of the latter from 4th April). As we announced in November 2004, I will not be seeking re-election at the forthcoming annual general meeting. Work on appointing my successor has advanced and we anticipate being able to make a further announcement by the time of the annual general meeting in May.”
