IMI has launched IMI Insyt, our first Prescriptive Engineering Service that identified potential mis-operation, design flaws, and inadequate maintenance to improve plant safety and performance.

Meet Ory – Manager Application Engineering

What’s your role at IMI?

I manage the Application Engineering team for in Rancho Santa Margarita, USA.

When have you helped to solve a customer’s problem?

Industries all over the world need to analyse their operational set up for valve suitability and safety; avoiding accidents, failures, or leaks. To address this, IMI launched IMI InSyt, our first prescriptive engineering service that identifies mis-operation, poor design, and inadequate maintenance to improve plant safety and performance. Our new preventative analytical software evaluates plants top to bottom, using the wealth of expertise of our highly qualified Valve Doctors® who really understand the root cause of problems, preventing potentially life-threatening failures.

I’ve been reviewing customer data for 20 years, learning the intricacies of how our customer’s systems work. With IMI Insyt, I have used this experience to help shape develop our product, and have brought in the voice of the customer at each step of the way.

What did you learn from this experience?

Never undervalue knowledge and expertise. Now, more than ever before, customers need partners to help them solve critical operations and safety problems within their facilities.

What do you feel most proud of?

The immense effort our team made during such a tough few years – we have made a real difference for our customers and I’m proud of the success we have had.
