Supporting farmers in protecting the environment

The use of fertilisers is vital to productive farming, but too much or too little use can have consequences for the crop yields and the environment.

Meet Lori – Customer Service Manager

What’s your role at IMI?

I’ve always been passionate about providing an incredible customer experience – my role is all about building strong relationships with our customers to consistently give them a world class customer experience, understand what they need and ensure they feel valued.

When have you helped to solve a customer’s problem?

I feel proud of the Breakthrough Engineering we provide, every day. I am particularly proud of two major accounts we have worked on; both developing solenoid valves to use in agricultural spraying systems. These valves ultimately allow farmers to grow more food while protecting the environment. It’s been incredible to be part of creating an engineering product that really improves life for a lot of people.

What did you learn from this experience?

I learnt that our success, in part, lies in the strong collaborative nature of the business – we have engineers all working at the top of their game, working together with other departments and our customers to come up with the best solutions. We also have a fantastically agile Supply Chain, and were able to support a huge growth in demand for our engineering solutions following a grant given to US farmers to support crop growth.

What do you feel most proud of?

In the 24 years I’ve been with IMI I have always felt very proud to be part of such a groundbreaking, collaborative company. I genuinely feel we are helping to build a better world.
