Our commitment to learning and development is unwavering, offering opportunities to empower every team member to grow and thrive in our world. 

We nurture the development of all our people through development programmes, mentoring and learning opportunities. Recently, we spoke with a number of our development programme alumni across IMI to learn more about how the programmes we offer are helping to create an impact professionally and personally for our people.

Leadership Programme

Our Leadership Programme is designed to support both the personal and professional development of our leaders, enabling them to grow and be in the best position to help us accelerate better world growth. 

To build strategic business leadership, combined with authentic and inspiring leadership style, we have partnered with the IMD Business School, an academic institution with a reputation for high standards of teaching. On the programme, our leaders experience thought leadership, simulations and coaching to develop the skills needed to support our growth strategy.

How did the Leadership Programme enhance your skills and knowledge?

Coming from a marketing and communications background means I haven’t had much exposure to the theories behind business strategy development. A session from Michael Yaziji where we explored creating and formulating a strategy enabled me to connect the dots between the various models I have heard and worked. 

How has the programme positively affected your personal growth?

Sharing my experiences and reflecting on how they might impact some of my own personal behaviours has been enlightening. I truly believe self-awareness is one of the most important strengths to good leadership, and we often lack the time – and guided expertise – to do those deep dives needed to learn, grow and become better leaders.

MaxIMIse Programme

This programme is designed to foster a culture of learning within the global business support community for those in administrative roles. To enhance business knowledge, skills, and behaviours, and create a positive impact on the business, we have partnered with the Adam Fidler Academy, a leading business school specialising in training for business support professionals.

How did the programme enhance your skills and knowledge?

The Maximise programme helped me to operate more strategically in decision making and enhanced my problem-solving ability. Learning from other Business Support colleagues’ and the sharing of best practices, perspectives, knowledge and experiences, has broadened my thinking leading to a more collaborative working style.  

How has MaxIMIse positively impacted your personal growth?

When I joined the Maximise programme, I had recently returned from maternity leave and the prospect of starting a new development programme felt daunting. But having the support from IMI to prioritise my personal growth boosted my self-confidence and motivated me to embark on my learning journey. Since then, I have completed a Level 4 qualification in Office and Administrative Management and was successful in gaining a promotion.  

Catalyst Programme

Our Catalyst Programme is designed to raise career aspirations for high potential individuals and support them by accelerating personal growth and career progression. 

The programme offers a variety of content, workshops and mentorship opportunities, providing both a structured and independent approach to learning with regular coaching, enabling participants to explore personal growth and development.

I’ve experienced firsthand how investing in development can transform your career. I began my journey as an Executive Assistant, and my decision to study with the Adam Fidler Academy and complete multiple qualifications has significantly shaped my current role in Learning and Development. 

I am very proud to have received the Aspiration award from the Adam Fidler Academy for transitioning into a different career pathway and for being an ambassador for continual learning, supporting other’s to thrive in our world at IMI. 

My journey started with curiosity, and along the way, it has unlocked great opportunities. 

Personal and professional growth isn’t just a concept, building a learning culture at IMI is essential for career advancement and fulfilment as we continue to enhance our employee experience.
