Role Overview:

The Supply Chain Manager defines, develop and executes planning, logistics, sourcing and custom compliance strategies, supplier development and purchasing tactics, looking for the best total cost of acquisition, planning and overall performance of suppliers to achieve the objectives by the company.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coaching and mentoring to planning, logistics and procurement teams in the areas of tactical purchasing practices in accordance with the most current process work instructions and compliance with International trade rules.
  • Establish goals and metrics for the full supply chain team; provide feedback; evaluation of performance to goals; report results accordingly. Such as “a Plan For Every Part´´ strategy and cost. 
  • Develop and effective logistics and planning strategy, which meets the internal customer’s needs to deliver on time and accurate product to customers.
  • Develops and maintains Purchase Price Variance strategy (projects, timing, projections)
  • Responsible for interface with S&OP team and MRP master data & message cleanliness
  • Develops and complies with Budgetary goals for Purchase Price Variance, Inventory & Freight
  • Develops and maintains Excess and Obsolete Inventory calculations for optimal use up reduction.
  • Approves and monitors Premium Freight incidents and trends for total freight cost improvements.
  • Develop sourcing strategy with internal clients for assigned advanced engineering solutions projects that align with overall sourcing strategies for specific categories supporting production requirements.
  • Lead pricing/contract negotiations in conjunction with the site level team(s)
  • Improve the performance of suppliers through use of tools for continuous improvement and business management.
  • Monitor key metrics for all departments within the supply chain. 
  • Develop a career path among the different teams and areas as well as ensuring succession planning.
  • Comply with procedures, requirements, governmental, environmental, legal and tax established policies and procedures of the organization, Quality and environmental policies according to IMI Quality system.
  • Participate in activities and work programs of the System of Occupational Safety and Health as required. 
  • Observe and enforce the provisions of the IMI Way. 
  • Perform all activities with adherence to corporate values. 
  • Coordinate activities among the members of the area to ensure compliance with key indicators of the plant. 
  • Report to Management team the key indicators of the department
  • Responsible for compliance with the Queretaro net Inventory on hand value and inventory integrity as demonstrated through IMS inventory cycle counting program. (projects, timing, projections)

 

Critical Competencies for Success

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent degree) in Mechanical Engineer, MBA or equivalent (preferred)
  • Minimum10 years of experience in procurement area with increased level of responsibility
  • Knowledge of Systems ERP (SAP, J.D. Edwards, Mfg PRO)
  • Must have the ability to direct and coach individuals (focus in middle level managers) and help them grow professionally and personally and a willingness and ability to mentor individuals throughout the Company.   
  • Ability to effectively develop and present information internally or externally in a group setting, special experience includes sharing information directly with customers and/or their technical leaders.  
  • Ability to communicate, written and oral at all levels of organization 
  • Ability to negotiate with supplier, internal or external customers
  • Self-motivated, proactive individual capable of working as a member of a team, leading teams and operating independently
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • High level of integrity
  • Excellent presentation/facilitation, organizational, analytical, and written/oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, growth-oriented and time-critical environment.
