Role Overview:

The Product Technician/Machinist assists assigned function Engineers in the design, development and test of one or more of the following: components, machinery and/or products. Under supervision may design tests used to support engineering efforts. May provide technical assistance in the areas of design, layout and detail of the design. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications outlined below represent the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for this position. Location: Saline, MI Onsite Daily

Responsibilities:

  • Possess and applies manufacturing knowledge.
  • Machining & programming products from engineering drawings.
  • Basic design work using CAD (fixturing etc.).
  • Works independently to prioritize and accomplish daily objectives to support the needs of the organization.
  • Program direct on Machine(s) &/ or utilizing CAM software.
  • Ensure maximum levels of production through proper programming, set-up and operation of machinery and equipment.
  • Assists and Supports Engineering in build and design stages.
  • Designs and conduct various design tests to support engineering.
  • May establish manufacturing methods and costs for design engineering
  • May construct testing equipment of experimental models.
  • Follows proper departmental procedures and maintains proper records in accordance with organizational requirements.
  • May train lesser-experienced technicians and operatives.
  • Possess an intermediate level of understanding on procedures, techniques and equipment used.
  • Keeps work area clean and organized to ensure safety and environmental compliance.
  • Demonstrates positive relations and teamwork as established in the IMI Way and Leadership Blueprint within the organization
  • Follows all safety guidelines including utilization of proper PPE.

Critical Competencies for Success:
Education and Experience

  • Associates degree; technical training or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years’ experience in Manual and CNC precision Machining
  • 3+ years of prototype machining
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Office; and MS Project knowledge is also preferred. CAD/CAM & CAD experience. Machine control programming knowledge.

Pay range: Minimum $85k – $95k

Within this range, individual pay is determined based on skills, experience, and qualifications relative to the job requirements. Base pay information is aligned with market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
