Role Overview
Ensure the supply of direct and indirect materials to the plant complying with the quality, delivery and savings guidelines established by the company to meet production standards by developing direct and indirect suppliers that are competitive in quality, deliveries and price.
Essential Job Roles and Responsibilities:
1. To meet the savings established by IMI through negotiation with suppliers to obtain the most competitive prices, quality and deliveries; locating foreign suppliers in Mexico, buying and negotiating in the long term the best prices of metals, requesting engineering changes in products and if necessary, improving the supply to obtain the best quality, delivery and price in materials.
2. Develop new or current suppliers so that in the launches of new components or changes there are no problems of delivery or quality, during development, launch and production.
3. Supervise supply chain planning, placement of purchase orders to the supplier. Supervision of purchase order confirmations and shipment dates. Coordinates with the team of planners the delivery of materials to the plant or, if necessary, to the point of use, following up on their collection in collaboration with Logistics, as well as verifying the receipt of material in the plant and in the system.
4. Maintain continuity of supply and comply with on-time deliveries (OTD) from suppliers, in addition to jointly negotiating the best options for allocating resources from suppliers to comply with the requirements.
5. Maintain the quality of supplier components and comply with the Quality Policy and Manual and the metrics associated with them (PPM, Scrap, Rework, etc. of suppliers), in addition to jointly negotiating the best options for allocating resources from suppliers to comply with the requirements.
6. Monitor compliance with customs and tax laws (IMMEX, VAT, etc.) when assigning assets, machinery and molds, among others, but not limited to the property of the organization, to suppliers, avoiding unnecessary risks. Work together with the Customs Compliance area to establish the appropriate procedures and execute them and thus comply with these requirements.
7. Properly manage the molds, tools, and equipment assigned to suppliers, ensuring the proper maintenance of these assets by the supplier in a timely manner.
8. Contribute to the achievement of the organization's environmental objectives through proper compliance with internal environmental procedures and policy, as well as the legal and governmental requirements that apply in environmental matters.
Job Requirements:
Level of Education and Experience:
1. Required Education: Bachelor's Degree or Completed Engineering
2. From 5 to 10 years of experience minimum experience in direct and indirect material purchases, negotiation strategies with countries in America, Asia and Europe. Knowledge and management of PPV, PPM, OTD and Inventories indicators, personnel management, etc.
3. APICS (Basic Level).
