Challenge:
A client was losing upwards of £2 million annually due to the poor performance of a valve. The valve was sticking and clogging, meaning that the client could only operate at 50% production and had to take the valve out of service to be cleaned on a weekly basis. They needed a product that could improve production uptime, minimise valve cleaning, and reduce associated maintenance costs.
Solution:
IMI Critical Engineering introduced them to the new EroSolve Metamorphic Trim (MMT), the world’s first self-cleaning metamorphic valve trim. The new trim met their needs by alleviating clogging without causing additional vibration or noise concerns.
Within two weeks of learning about EroSolve MMT, the client had placed an order for their first valve trim to alleviate their problems. The EroSolve MMT trim has been in service since August 2021 and operational costs have been significantly reduced. Since installation, the valve has not needed any maintenance and is operating within the required parameters.
