Strategic transformation and market expansion

When IMI acquired Remosa in 2012, it was a well-established provider of severe service valves for downstream refinery and petrochemical applications, generating £41m in revenue – around 45% of which came from aftermarket services. Since then, we have evolved the business to focus on recurring, high-margin revenue streams. In 2024, aftermarket services accounted for more than 75% of total sales, reflecting our commitment to long-term customer partnerships and retention.

This growth has been driven by upgrades to IMI’s installed base and by replacing competitor systems with our more reliable, high-performing technologies.

Innovation-led growth: IMI VIVO

Market-led innovation is a core pillar of the One IMI operating model for growth. Through Growth Hub – our customer-centric innovation engine – we developed IMI VIVO, a green hydrogen electrolyser technology manufactured in Sardinia which is now part of Process Automation’s core offering. In 2024 alone, IMI VIVO secured £53m in orders, strengthening our presence in transformative industries and fast-growing markets. It also supports our sustainability strategy, positioning us well to meet the increasing demand for cleaner energy.
